CNN commentator Scott Jennings got breaking news on Thursday when he found out one of his boyhood heroes would be speaking at the Republican National Convention.

At the tail end of a discussion about the news, CNN anchor Kate Bolduan halted the conversation with Jennings and Karen Finney to let Jennings know that she could confirm that wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was set to take the stage. Jennings, a Republican strategist, was beside himself and visibly delighted, and it made for a purely joyful moment of television:

Bolduan: I’m actually not going to let Scott get into it because the breaking news that you have actually been waiting for–

    Jennings: Uh oh.

Bolduan: Yes, it has been confirmed.

    Jennings: Has it been confirmed?

Bolduan: It has been confirmed. I will now read it, and I will fully acknowledge I do not know why he is so excited, but I’m going to read it nonetheless, because I like you. Sometimes. Hulk Hogan, according to Kristen Holmes with single source approval, Hulk Hogan will speak on the final night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, according to a source familiar with the schedule. Why is this making your mind explode?

Jennings: Well, first of all, it’s my childhood hero. I grew up watching Hulk Hogan. I think he’s super awesome.

Finney: He’s so giddy! It’s really funny to watch.

Jennings: And something about this convention — the Republicans have become the fun party. We had Amber Rose. We’ve got Hulk Hogan.

Finney: Karen is saying your definition of “fun” is slightly–

Jennings: We’re the fun party now! And whatchu gonna do, brother, when the largest arms in the world encourage you to get your ballot in in a timely fashion?

Jennings was also pretty amped that a different kind of celebrity was getting in on the GOP action:

Jennings: Look, I remember the days when the most famous person that came to our convention was, like, Jon Voight. Now we have Instagram stars, we’ve got Hulk Hogan, we’ve got the UFC — we’re the fun party! We’re the fun party. America — it’s the fun party. Karen, you can come.

Finney: I’m here! I’m already here. Let’s just say, I’m gonna let you have your fun.

Bolduan: Just give him his moment, because he’s actually levitating. I mean, it was, it is something. And I needed a new five-hour energy shot, and I just got it in Scott Jennings. Thank you both. And you say I’d never do anything for you. You see what I just did? We got it confirmed.

Finally, as Bolduan handed off to anchor Sara Sidner, she asked who would win in a wrestling match between herself and Finney:

Bolduan: Let’s move on. Sara, please take it.

Sidner: It seems to me that you guys are in the middle of a WWE SmackDown, and I am concerned, but I will–

Bolduan: Wait, wait, wait-wait. Important, important. If we were, who would win? Sara?

Sidner: Kate, my money is always on you.

    Finney: Who’s your girl? Awww…

Sidner: She can take just about anyone, including Hulk Hogan, but that’s for another day.
