Everton's young defender Jarrad Branthwaite is gearing up for a new season at Goodison Park, despite ongoing rumors linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The 22-year-old had an impressive last season, solidifying his place in the Toffees first team and forming a strong defensive partnership with James Tarkowski.

Branthwaite’s performances earned him an England call-up and his first international cap, which in turn sparked interest from top clubs, with Manchester United reportedly making bids for him.

However, speaking from Everton's training camp in Ireland, Branthwaite expressed his desire to keep making progress with his current club.

"I think for me it's just about taking what I learned from last season, and the season before, and putting it all together," Branthwaite shared via Everton's official website .

"Last season, playing all the games I did helped me put performances in and get the experience I needed. I'm going to take that into this season and keep learning."

    Is Jarrad Branthwaite leaving Everton?

Manchester United have reportedly already had two bids for Branthwaite turned down this summer. And with the passing of the deadline around the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR) in June, Everton are now seemingly in a stronger position to reject any offers that do not meet their valuation for the player.

Meanwhile, United have been exploring other options to strengthen their defense, including a completed deal for 18-year-old Lille prospect Leny Yoro and an ongoing interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Branthwaite remains focused on contributing to Everton’s success in the upcoming season.

"When you’ve got a good defensive record, it gives you confidence going into the new season. It’s not just the defenders who contribute to that, it’s the whole team," he said.

Hopefully, we can pick up a few wins early on and get the momentum going in the new season.
