    ‘Dune: Prophecy’ Unveils Second Teaser Trailer: “Sacrifices Must Be Made” – Update

    UPDATED, 8 AM: “The more influence our sisterhood gains, the more enemies we make.” Max has released the latest trailer for its Dune prequel series Dune: Prophecy , taking us back 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides and the establishment of the Bene Gesserit. The one-minute clip gives us a hint of what’s to come, concluding with the foreboding “Sacrifices must be made.” You can watch it above and see series details and the first teaser below.

    PREVIOUS, May 15: Five years after Max (then HBO Max) ordered a Dune prequel series, the streamer has shared a first-look teaser for the show, titled Dune: Prophecy . Slated for a fall premiere, the series’ first season consists of six episodes, which is on the low end for an original scripted series. Its teaser was unveiled during the Warner Bros. Discovery upfront presentation Wednesday by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content.

    From the expansive universe of Dune , created by author Frank Herbert, and set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy (fka Dune: The Sisterhood ) is inspired by the novel Sisterhood Of Dune , written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

    The series, which underwent several major casting, writing and directing changes as it navigated a pandemic and strikes, stars Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

    Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer. Diane Ademu-John, who is among those who departed early on, co-developed the series and is an executive producer. Anna Foerster executive produced and directed multiple episodes including the first. Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts executive produce with author Brian Herbert, along with Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert as executive producers for the Frank Herbert estate. Author Kevin J. Anderson serves as co-producer.

    The series is co-produced by Max and Legendary Television. Legendary’s blockbuster Dune: Part 2 premieres on Max this month.
