Some might believe it’s too early to even think about Halloween and decorations but others have already been searching stores for ghosts and skeletons for a month now (Hi, it’s me). What Halloween lovers call Code Orange is now in full swing as Home Depot released its beloved Halloween collection today. Yes, that does include Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton who won over everyone’s hearts and yards in 2020, plus a few more new friends.
We got to preview the collection of 2024 decorations at the Castle Hotel and Spa in the legendary town of Sleepy Hollow (maybe technically Tarrytown for the New Yorkers reading) which provided a lovely spooky backdrop for the impressive collection.
We also spoke with the spooky creators of the decor, Home Depot’s Senior Merchant of Decorative Holiday, Lance Allen , and Senior Product Engineer, Rachel Little , on how they created the frightful collection. This year, one of these inventive creations is Skelly’s accessory kit which includes a Birkin bag, Southern pearls (but in black of course) and was heavily inspired by Wednesday Addams. Their team was also inspired by street performers while creating Home Depot's huge floating scares like the new Animated LED Levitating Reaper.
Allen and Little are already getting the 2025 collection final touches together since they work so far ahead of the season. But Allen mentioned it was really nice to see what they worked on last year being celebrated now. They’ve been so touched by the love of Skelly and some of the other haunts.
“It’s just so awesome to see what people are doing with the decorations," Allen tells Parade. "They are creative.”
So let’s go through Home Depot's 2024 Halloween collection and answer some pressing questions while we're at it.
When does the Home Depot Halloween collection go live?
Home Depot released its 2024 Halloween collection today, Thursday, July 18 at 6 a.m. EST, online. Certain parts of the collection will only be available online and not in stores, which we note below.
Will the new Skelly accessories fit all Skelly models?
Yes! It’s important to Home Depot that as they expand Skelly’s features, the original Skelly fans are still being serviced. This includes the new Skelly Scary Head and Eye Kit that comes with a remote to change the eyes.
However, if you want your Skelly to stay up for all the seasons, you might want to invest in a newer model. The Home Depot team heard feedback from customers that OG Skelly’s arms tend to droop from the year-round heat so they addressed that in newer models. Oh, and if you want your Skelly to dress up a little bit more, a size 5XL tall fits the bone babe quite well.

Can all of Home Depot's decor stay outdoors?
It depends on what the decor is made out of, but most of it can stay outside; they were designed to withstand brutal elements. But detailed scares like the Victorian Vampire, with his lovely velvet coat, might be best suited for limited outdoor use. The Home Depot team did make it so each scary dude is easy to carry in and outdoors for those who want to share the scares inside and out.
What is the best way to cover up the base of the larger scares?
Home Depot experts recommended a fog machine for peek spookiness (which they do sell in stores). But if your setup does not allow for a fog machine, try burlap (which they did for the event), a bag-o-bones or dark fabric to cover up the base of your Home Depot Halloween figures.

So without further ado, here are some of our favorites that hit Home Depot's website this morning!
This little (big) guy is sold out, currently, but check back online or your local store for potential restocks. But look how cute! And the perfect companion for your Skelly.
It truly is nuts how many things have already sold out, including this archway. Hopefully, this comes back, too, because it's a fan fave.

This sounds weird, but this insanely cute mouse is not on Home Depot's website at the time of publishing this. This mouse is included in Home Depot's official Halloween 2024 lookbook, though, and since they were a star at the sneak peek we went to, we had to keep it in here. Because look at that face! So cute.
