WWE Injury News: Tyler Bates undergoes successful surgery but will not return in 2024

A round of injury updates are starting to land in the WWE this week, beginning with the status of Rhea Ripley going into Summerslam, and CM Punk’s as well, and then the future of Big E being updated by The New Day member himself . Tyler Bates also gave the Universe some news on what’s occurring with him physically, and it’s not entirely good news.

Dunne will not return to action at any point over the remainder of 2024, with 2025 being the earliest he is projected to jump back into the ring.

He posted a heartfelt message on social media much to this effect, thanking fans as well for their love and support as he begins his long and arduous journey back to full health.

“Tore my left pectoral major and tendon off the bone last week at NXT,” Bates wrote this week. “Surgery yesterday was successful, and all has been put back where it belongs.I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much. I’m in good spirits and looking forward to seeing you all again soon, lots of love, the Big Strong Boi.”

In his absence, his tag teammate Pete Dunne has turned on mentor and longtime friend, Sheamus, on RAW. The program is likely to replace what would’ve been the blossoming feud between Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser, the latter also being shelved by injury.

It’s likely tough for Bates to watch The Bruiserweight turn full heel, with a sneak attack, no less, but there’s nothing he can do about it until he can do something about it.

And that won’t be anytime soon for the Big Strong Boi.
