‘Disrespectful to the Office!’ The View’s Sunny Hostin Lashes Out at Dems for ‘Throwing Joe Biden Under the Bus’

The View co-host Sunny Hostin accused Democrats of “throwing Joe Biden under the bus” with reports of behind the scenes talks pushing for him to drop his reelection campaign.
On Thursday’s The View , Joy Behar joined Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin in predicting Biden will likely drop out, arguing his BET interview this week likely did nothing to convince voters concerned about his age and stamina.
Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg stood defiant in their support for the president.
“I will say this, it’s his decision to make. It seems to me that these behind the scenes meetings are being leaked intentionally to sort of force his hand,” Hostin said. “I think that’s disrespectful to the president, I think that’s disrespectful to the office.”
Hostin’s comments followed reports that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) met with Biden and warned him he could not just lose the presidency, but also any control in Congress for Democrats. An Axios report also cited top Biden aides and close friends arguing it’s a matter of when, not if Biden drops out. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) also added his name this week to a growing list of Democratic lawmakers that have publicly called for a new candidate.
Hostin argued Democrats have not supported Harris enough, insisting she should give voters more faith in Biden.
“He still has my vote because he has Vice President Harris right next to him who is ready to step into the role of president, God forbid something happened to Joe Biden,” she said.
Haines defended Democrats publicly criticizing Biden, arguing they wouldn’t do so if they didn’t feel a “pressure campaign” was necessary.
Hostin told Democrats to focus less on concerns about Biden and focus on Project 2025 , a controversial Republican agenda from the Heritage Foundation, which includes sweeping declarations on immigration , reproductive rights, and more. Hostin called it the “scariest thing you will ever read.”
“Democrats, instead of throwing Joe Biden under the bus need to start talking more about the Republican program,” Hostin said.
