    Man dead, woman seriously injured after struck in Madera County crash

    FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A pedestrian was killed and a second was seriously injured early Thursday morning in Madera County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    CHP says around 3:45 a.m. they respond to a crash on Avenue 12 east of Road 25.

    Investigators say a driver was going westbound on Avenue 12 just east of Road 25 at approximately 55 mph in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

    A man and a woman were walking in the middle of the roadway when they were struck by the Chevrolet.

    CHP says the driver of the Chevrolet was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The unidentified man died from his injuries. The woman had major injuries.

    This crash is still under investigation.
