    HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaiʻi AI & Cloud Innovation Summit is the biggest event in Hawaiʻi focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology.

    It’s organized by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) and partners like the City and County of Honolulu, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii.

    This summit is important because it will explore how AI and cloud technologies can improve business, create jobs and make work easier. AI and cloud technology can help businesses grow by making them more efficient.

    They can also help employees by taking over simple tasks, like writing letters or taking notes during meetings, allowing people to focus on more important work.

    “This event aims to help business leaders, entrepreneurs, and the workforce gain a deeper understanding of how AI and cloud technologies are shaping business, career and society,” Governor Josh Green, M.D., as he emphasized the importance of this summit.

    The summit will feature speeches and discussions from experts in the field. Two notable speakers are:

    • Natasha Nicola from Amazon Web Services (AWS) will talk about “Unleashing the Power of Data and AI for Digital Transformation”.
    • John Larson from Booz Allen Hamilto will present “AI: Art of the Possible for Hawaiʻi”.

    James Kunane Tokioka, DBEDT director, explained that AI and new technologies are changing how industries work all over the world.

    “Hawai‘i’s engagement with AI is not just about keeping pace with global trends, but about leading the charge in economic growth, job creation, and improved efficiency,” he said.

    Attendees will learn about the latest AI innovations and how these technologies can help their businesses or careers. It’s also a great chance to meet and network with other professionals and experts.

    The summit is organized by TRUE Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Hawaiʻi’s economy by promoting technology. TRUE Initiative’s goal is to solve cost-of-living problems by making local businesses stronger with technology, creating better jobs, and increasing wages.

    DBEDT is Hawaiʻi’s go-to place for economic information and business development. Their mission is to create a dynamic and competitive economy that benefits all Hawaiʻi’s residents. They support community development, affordable housing, and innovation sector job growth.
