The man does not stop. In the middle of his $10 Cowboy tour , celebrating and sharing the music from his latest project, Charley Crockett unveils his next album, and it is coming SOON. Only 11 weeks after the release of $10 Cowboy , Crockett announces that he is dropping the second part of the album, continuing the story through
$10 Cowboy Chapter II— Visions Of Dallas. The second part of the album, which will be released on Monday, July 22nd, came to life with the help of Crockett's longtime collaborator Billy Horton. The promotional video announcing the album shows Crockett strolling through a field with the Dallas skyline in the background, with the title track overlaying the footage. "We recorded the songs during the same sessions as $10 Cowboy down at Arlyn Studios in Austin. Could have released a double record. But then Taylor Grace wrote 'Visions of Dallas' in a hotel room overlooking that city. She thought about my relationship to Dallas and the great state of Texas in general, and suggested we do a second album where all the songs tie back to Dallas and Texas. The result is Visions of Dallas."
Of the quick turnaround, Charley hits the nail on the head: "For a truly independent artist like myself, there are no rules anymore. Why release Visions of Dallas now? To indulge myself in artistic freedom. The days of 18-to-24-month release cycles have gone the way of the dinosaur. I’ll have my 14 th studio album out next week, and every single one has been released how and when I wanted them to. I see no reason to change now.” https://www.instagram.com/p/C9kKYEnxjeu/ The San Benito, Texas native is paving his own lane of country music with his blues-inspired country sound, making his style of music unlike any other currently being produced. $10 Cowboy Chapter II— Visions Of Dallas will be the singer's 13th album, and given the proximity of release dates, one can only assume the first chapter of this project was written alongside the songs set to appear in the second chapter. Crockett noted before the release of $10 Cowboy that life on the road heavily influenced the lyrics. So, I will be curious to see if we hear similar messaging throughout the forthcoming project.
“This material is written at truck stops, it’s written at casinos, it’s written in the alleys behind the venues, it’s written in my truck parked up on South Congress in Austin. A ramblin’ man like me, a genuine transient, is in a pretty damn good position to have something to say about America.” This news will make those Monday blues roll away next week. I can't wait to fire this one up. $10 Cowboy Chapter II- Visions Of Dallas Tracklist: "Visions of Dallas" "Avoiding Mirrors" "Trouble And Misery" "Killers of the Flower Moon" "Crystal Chandeliers and Burgandy" "How Low Can You Go" "Lonesome Feeling" "Charlene" "Loser's Lounge" "20-20 Vision" "Loretta" "Goodbye Holly" https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0eGpSs_0uVcMBdL00
