Kate Hudson is opening up about a potential How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days sequel and said she is down to make it happen.

In a recent interview, Hudson said that she and her co-star Matthew McConaughey are open to starring in a follow-up to the 2003 romantic comedy.

“I think they’re always thinking about that,” Hudson told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen after he asked if there was ever any thought to making a sequel.

Hudson added, “All that matters would be the script and if Matthew and I would be into the script.”

“I think we’re both totally open but it’s just never happened,” she said.

Donald Petrie directed How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days , which is based on the picture book by Michele Alexander and Jennie Long. The screenplay by Kristen Buckley, Brian Regan, and Burr Steers revolves around advertising executive Benjamin Barry (McConaughey), who makes a bet he can make any woman fall in love with him. At the same time, writer Andie Anderson (Hudson) plans to write an article about how to make a man dump you.

The film’s success at the box office made McConaughey into a rom-com star who recently opened up about almost quitting Hollywood because he wanted to steer away from those types of roles.

“I’ve usually zigged when I felt like Hollywood wanted me to zag. When I had my rom-com years, there was only so much bandwidth I could give to those, and those were some solid hits for me,” McConaughey told Interview . “But I wanted to try some other stuff.”

McConaughey would take a two-year acting break and return to the big screen with films like The Lincoln Lawyer in 2011, M agic Mike (2012), The Paperboy (2012), and Dallas Buyers Club (2013), which earned him an Oscar.
