The story began when a local family’s DoorDash driver was apprehended, leaving the eagerly awaited pizza undelivered. LCSO Lt. Eidahl stepped in to save the day, ensuring the family didn’t miss their slice.

“Your DoorDash driver got arrested …” Lt. Eidahl announced as he knocked on Rhonda Tyner’s front door with a pizza box in hand.

Tyner shared the humorous encounter captured by her doorbell camera, showing the deputy standing at her doorstep with the pizza.

“Thank you to Lee County Alabama’s finest for making sure my child got fed while we were working,” Tyner posted.

The sheriff’s office expressed its support for Eidahl’s actions.

“Sometimes the ‘serve’ part of ‘protect and serve’ looks a little different than you’d expect,” the sheriff’s office posted. “Lt. Eidahl wasn’t going to let a family go hungry just because their pizza delivery driver got arrested.”
