    CAL FIRE stops wildfire sparked by car crash in Northern California forest

    (FOX40.COM) — A potential wildland fire in Nevada County was stopped on Thursday morning almost immediately after being ignited by a solo vehicle crash, according to CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit (NEU).

    Firefighters were called to a vehicle collision east of Conservation Road and Highway 20 with a fire extension to nearby vegetation.

    When crews arrived on scene they found the vehicle’s single occupant was uninjured along with a fire that was quickly stopped at .02 acres.

    Crews with Nevada County Consolidated Fire knocked down the vehicle fire while CAL FIRE, Grass Valley Fire Department and Nevada City Fire Department handled the vegetation fire.
