Julia Fox goes back to brunette hair in fresh-faced mirror selfie: ‘Had to do a double-take’

Julia Fox is going back to her roots.

The actress, 34, recently ditched her platinum blond locks and went back to brunette, posting a photo of her makeover to Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

In the mirror selfie, Fox can be seen showing off her newly dyed, dark brown hair, which was cut into layers and styled in soft waves.

The “Uncut Gems” star opted to keep her clothes on the comfy side this time, ditching her typically revealing outfits in favor of an oversized graphic sweatshirt. Although she appeared fresh-faced, her hands were covered in multiple bandages, which could be seen as she held her phone.

Fox initially remained mum on the reason behind the dramatic transformation, only tagging Toronto, Canada in her Story, but later replied to an InStyle post featuring the photo, telling the publication “I’m working lol”

While it’s unclear exactly what Fox is working on currently, she does have a few upcoming projects in the works, including Jordan Peele’s latest project , “Him,” starring Marlon Wayans.

Naturally, fans were surprised by the major switch up, sharing their thoughts in InStyle’s comments section.

“I had to do a double-take! She looks almost unrecognizable!” one person wrote. “She’s beautiful ALL ways! 😍”

Others admitted that they preferred Fox’s hair this way.

“How’s this the prettiest she’s ever looked,” someone asked, while another person added “She is beautiful love it please keep that color.”

Fox is known for her other-worldly looks, having debuted bleached brows and silver hair earlier this year. She later went totally platinum, sporting a series of risqué outfits during fashion week and beyond , before even trying out a Velveeta orange color in April.

Earlier this month, the star came out as a lesbian, cheekily declaring, “so sorry, boys” after stating that she’s been celibate for two years.

She also revealed earlier this week that she recently dropped out of a project after the director allegedly made racist remarks.
