Selma Blair Reveals She Shares Clothes With Tween Son Arthur — But Not in the Way You’d Think

We know a lot of celebrity families who have styles that align, so we weren’t surprised to hear that Selma Blair and her 12-year-old son Arthur are on the same page fashion-wise. We’ve seen a lot of celebrity families that are all about twinning, and then there are kids who have famously reworn some of their parents’ iconic looks. (And why wouldn’t they? Their parents have top. notch. closets.)
But that’s not quite how things work with Blair and her tween who she shares with ex Jason Bleick. He’s not rummaging through her closet. She’s rummaging through his !
“I love a little vintage Chanel jacket with denim shorts and a pair of my son’s sneakers,” the actress told Us Weekly . “I love nothing more than to look like a f*cked-up debutante.”
A pair of her son’s sneakers?! I don’t know many people who would touch a tween boy’s shoes with a 10-foot pole (think of the smell!), but the Cruel Intentions star is rocking them proudly and often turns to her son for fashion inspiration.
“There was a point when I was buying a lot of Balenciaga because he wanted it,” she said. No big deal.
In an unbelievably candid appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2022, Blair revieled how her son’s birth helped her overcome addiction.
“I had no idea I had hope until I saw my son, and I love him more than anything,” she said.
“And I think, ‘Oh god, if he started drinking right now, or if he started doing the hurtful things to girls that people did to me. What would I do in loving to get him on track right now?'”
Arthur has always been his mom’s best cheerleader. In 2019, a year after Blair was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she said he was not fazed by her symptoms. “He says, ‘Mommy’s not sick. Mommy’s brave,’” Blair revealed , making us tear up.
That’s right, Arthur! She’s not sick. She’s brave, she’s stylish — and she’s a f*cked-up debutante when she wants to be.
