Liverpool has been linked with an extremely unlikely transfer move for Adrien Rabiot in recent days - and now it has been confirmed the 29-year-old is set to move on this summer.

Earlier today, Football Italia reported that Rabiot was set to speak with a number of clubs who are interested. As well as Liverpool , it said that Manchester United , Newcastle United, and Napoli are also keen.

On its official website , the Serie A giant has posted a statement: "Juventus and Adrien Rabiot's paths are parting. The French midfielder's adventure in black and white ends as he bids farewell to our club after five seasons.

"A Bianconero since the summer of 2019, Adrien - during his time in Turin - won a Scudetto, the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana once, but above all he has always put charisma and commitment at the disposal of his teammates.

"Staying on the pitch, Rabiot has always been a valuable element in the non-possession phase, but not only that: in the last two seasons, in fact, he has also significantly increased his contribution in the goal area with sixteen goals and nine assists, across all competitions.

"Adrien bids farewell to our club after reaching and surpassing 200 appearances with our shirt, becoming the fifth Frenchman in the history of Juventus to do so.

"To be precise, the French midfielder has played 212 games with our colors, a number that has allowed him to become the third Frenchman ever - tied with Zinedine Zidane - in terms of number of appearances with Juventus, behind only David Trezeguet (320 appearances) and Michel Platini (224). Thank you, Adrien, and good luck for the future!"

Liverpool.com says: Rabiot is a decent player but nothing particularly special. His injury record isn't the best and his salary is huge. Liverpool is linked with the Frenchman every single summer but nothing ever comes of the rumors.
