Because of the weather, there were no flights at LaGuardia, JFK, or Newark on Wednesday night.
In New York City, flooding from the bad weather caused long delays in both ways on the FDR Drive as it got close to East 79th Street in Manhattan.

Because of water at Fort Totten in Queens, Q13 buses had to go around it in a different way going both ways.

Heavy Rains In New York City

A Foo Fighters show at Citi Field and a New York Red Bulls soccer game in Harrison, New Jersey were both pushed back because of heavy rain. We had to end the Foo Fighters show early because of the storms.

On Clay Street and McCarter Highway in Newark, people got their cars stuck in the floodwaters as well.

Before these rounds of bad weather, there were storms on Tuesday night in New Jersey, which left some people cleaning up the damage.

    Damage To Trees And Wildlife

Big trees in Edison were toppled by a storm, and branches fell on homes and fences.
Mayor Sam Joshi said that the strong flash storm affected the homes near Harmon Road, Montview, Wilk, O'Hara, and other parts of town.

People said that trees had been uprooted, lines had been down, and some neighborhoods didn't have power.

There was major damage to at least 12 houses in the Raritan Manor neighborhood of Edison.
When Leslie, who lives in Edison, got home, she saw a hole in her roof and water coming through it. Trees and twigs fell in her backyard.

Because there was so much damage, on Wednesday, workers used saws and chippers to turn downed trees into mulch.

    Block Fixing Power Lines

Teams from PSE&G have been on every block fixing power lines and turning the power back on long before it got hot.

Significant damage was done to some houses, but Joshi said that no one was hurt.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is already in place for Wednesday night in case more storms happen. Wind gusts of up to 70 mph will be a major danger, and hail may fall in some places as well.
