The Decemberists stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night to deliver a rousing rendition of “Burial Ground,” with their introduction courtesy of the evening’s guest host, Anthony Anderson. Watch the performance below.

The cut off their 2024 album, As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again , was performed against a backdrop of painted leaves and flowers akin to the visual style of their most recent album artwork. The LP marked their first new release as a band in over six years, and their last appearance on Kimmel was back in 2018. The energetic return for the performance of “Burial Ground” kept a quintessential spotlight on the band’s live instrumentals and layered harmonies.
