Queen Camilla Just Wore a Sky Blue Shirtdress and It Feels So Effortless for Summer

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s two-day visit to the Channel Islands this week made headlines for a lot of reasons ( a security scare , frisky cows , a sprained ankle ), but our focus was on something lighter: Namely, the pretty and polished sky blue Anna Valentine shirtdress ( similar here from Ralph Lauren , $248 ; $175) Camilla wore in Jersey.

The rainy weather certainly made every effort to put a damper on the royal proceedings, but Camilla —and her elegant shirtdress—stood out in the crowd. Beyond the easy and figure-flattering silhouette, she paired the style with a simple trench coat draped over her shoulders. (The fact that the Brits are still experiencing summer days with transitional coat weather is something to envy, no?)

Still, it’s the simplicity of the shirtdress style (which also happens to be beloved by Duchess Sophie ) that makes it such a stand-out. It’s classic and chic and something that she can wear on repeat in the garden, at Balmoral —wherever her summer plans carry her. Also, the sky blue color feels dreamy and ocean-like as we channel as many carefree days as we can manage before September hits.
