There’s a new baddie on the Cobra Kai block, and he just might be Miyagi-Do’s greatest threat, which is really saying something considering they’ve already thwarted supervillain incarnate Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).

The sixth season of Cobra Kai introduced the dangerous Kwon Jae-Sung, a renegade martial arts expert who becomes John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Kim Da-eun’s (Alicia Hannah-Kim) star pupil. Introduced in Season 6, Episode 3 (“Sleeper”), Kwon is mentored by Kreese (never a good sign) and looks to be Cobra Kai’s best shot at winning the Sekai Taikai. Kwon is an arrogant, menacing opponent for Miguel, Robby, Hawk, and Demetri, emitting enough swagger to power the San Fernando Valley for a three-day weekend.

Who’s the actor behind this small-screen scene-stealer? Here’s everything you need to know.

Who Plays Kwon in Cobra Kai Season 6?

Cobra Kai’s most dangerous student is portrayed by actor Brandon H. Lee .

Where Have I Seen Brandon H. Lee Before?

While this ascendant newcomer doesn’t have a ton of credits — he appeared on Episode 8 of Max’s Generation , starred in the Our Late Father web series , and played Ken on the sketch series The Red Rob Roy Show — you might recognize Lee from Instagram .

A modern Renaissance man, the Cobra Kai standout is a Taekwondo Master — if you’ve watched the first five episodes of Season 6 you’re probably like, uh, yeah, obviously — and comedian. Brandon has performed in various sketches and starred in the 2023 League of Legends World Championship Opening Ceremony , with Lee noting on Instagram that “League of Legends” is the only video game he’s played for the last ten years.

Umm… would you want to square off against that guy at the Sekai Taikai?! I think not.

Finally, Lee was also a stunt double for Shang-Chi on Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings . You can learn more about Cobra Kai’s newest star by following him on YouTube and Instagram.

The first five episodes of Cobra Kai Season 6 are now streaming on Netflix. The next five episodes drop Friday, November 15 on the streamer.
