MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a public comment period as it works on a bridge replacement project in Marion County.

The proposed Marion County project is to replace the Hoyt Rogers Road bridge over Maiden Down Swamp, SCDOT said. The project would cost a little more than $4.8 million.

SCDOT said the purpose of the project is to address structural deficiencies to meet current standards. The bridge is currently closed. The 21-day public comment period is from Thursday until Aug. 8.

Those who wish to submit a comment can email SCDOTpubliccomment@scdot.org .
