HBO has pulled back the curtain on yet another teaser trailer showcasing the upcoming prequel series, Dune: Prophecy , and the series will arrive in November.

Back in May , fans were treated to the first teaser trailer of Dune: Prophecy , a culmination of five years of work getting a prequel Dune greenlit at HBO that precedes the Denis Villeneuve-directed film franchise . It was then announced that the series would be limited, with six episodes delivered in comparison to the platform’s normalized 10-episode seasons (such as House of the Dragon season one or Game of Thrones before it). Today, HBO has unveiled another teaser showcasing what the prequel brings to the table, and it puts a spotlight on the events 10,000 years before the events of the recent films. It is based on the Frank Herbert novel Sisterhood of Dune . That teaser can be seen below.

Dune: Prophecy is set to follow two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. The Bene Gesserit is a group composed entirely of females with superhuman abilities, and the influence of the Bene Gesserit and the legacy of the Harkonnen sisters can be felt even in the film franchise 10,000 years in the canonical future, so it’s safe to say these events are important to the overarching narrative.

Dune: Prophecy is headed by showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker (taking over duties from the early departure of Diane Ademu-John), with Anna Foerster responsible for directing multiple episodes also serving as executive producer. Other executive producers include Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts, as well as the son of Frank Herbert, author Brian Herbert, signing on as producer.

Dune: Prophecy also brings a star-studded cast to the table with Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as Valya and Tula Harkonnen, the ‘sisterhood.’ The cast also features Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning and Yerin Ha.

Dune: Prophecy will oddly premiere under the HBO banner, and air live on the official channel, then it will be available as a convenient stream on the Max streaming service. Dune: Prophecy launches at a TBD date in 2024. Fans can head to the official novels website for more information and a storyline background on the series.
