On July 17, Academy-Award winning actor Adrien Brody shared the cutest recent photo and throwback snap of him and his dog with the hilarious caption, "How come we always end up looking like our dogs?"

Just take a look at these two and you can clearly see the resemblance!

People in the comments have a lot to say about this and one person said, 'For the first time in my life, I don't know if the person is cuter or the dog." Another added, "You are both gorgeous."

The animal lover has shared numerous photos of his pets on Instagram, and I think we can all agree he looks nothing like his beautiful cat.

Besides the fact that we love our pets more than life and that could be why we start to look like them, there may actually be pretty good reasons why we start to look like our pets.

Why Dogs And Their Owners Look Alike

The weird thing you may notice where dog owners starting to resemble their dogs, either physically or behaviorally, is a bizarre topic that has intrigued scientists and dogs fans alike. There could be a few reasons why people start to look like their dogs , and it could be because people may subconsciously choose dogs that share their same attributes. Like a super feminine woman who considers herself a girly-girl may choose a more foo-foo dog she feels compliments her. Or a super athletic person who enjoys running may choose a dog that is also known for being athletic and wanting a lot of exercise. Owners and their dogs often share similar lifestyles and environments, which can lead to similar behaviors and routines. If you spend a lot of time grooming yourself and picking out the perfect outfit, you may do the same for your pup.

Another thing that could be going on is that dogs are highly observant and often mimic their owners' behavior, which can create a perception of similarity. For instance, a calm and relaxed owner might have a calm and relaxed dog. A more hyper person may have a hyper dog.

Pawlove explains it as, "The experts say that people prefer pets that look like themselves due to an evolved trait known as assertive mating , which helps humans find a genetically similar (human) mate while simultaneously helping to rule out inbreeding. To put it simply, humans seek out what’s familiar but not too familiar when selecting a partner — furry or otherwise — because we’ve evolved to do so over millions of years."

For whatever reason, it's always adorable when someone looks like their dog!
