What started as a hit-and-run incident at a campground near Colorado's Lake Dillon ended in a DUI arrest earlier this month.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, a male driver allegedly struck a parked car at the campsite near the reservoir but refused to exchange information with the owner of the damaged vehicle. At that point, the driver who caused the damage left the scene.

Deputies were able to locate the hit-and-run suspect fairly quickly, noting that the man was visibly intoxicated. The suspect was reportedly slurring his speech and smelled like alcohol, also admitting to both drinking and "bumping" the other vehicle.

The man agreed to take a roadside check for intoxication, but fell over while trying to perform related tasks. Ultimately, he was arrested on several charges, including DUI.
