Childish Gambino Beefs With Shane Gillis In Spicy ‘Hot Ones’ Episode: “I’m Coming For You”

The wings weren’t the only thing that turned up the heat on this week’s episode of Hot Ones .

Childish Gambino, a.k.a Donald Glover , was this week’s guest on the show, and chose to use his epilogue time to take a jab at none other than controversial comedian Shane Gillis .

Gillis, who took on the wings of death back in June, did not handle the challenge with as much grace as Gambino and others have.

If it gives fans any indication, Gillis’ episode was titled “ Shane Gillis Pounds Milk While Eating Spicy Wings ,” which is not exactly the mark of someone who completed the challenge painlessly.

For those who aren’t aware of how the series works, host Sean Evans “rolls out the red carpet” for guests after they complete the challenge, giving them the opportunity to plug new projects they’re working on and give shoutouts to whomever they’d like.

“I think I want to take this time to say, Shane Gillis, I beat you fair and square,” Gambino said on his episode after plugging his new album.

He added, “I saw you, and you ate this, and you fell apart under pressure,” before concluding, “So, I just want to tell you, I’m coming for you when we do this again in ten years.”

The rest of the episode saw Gambino work his way through wings while seeing visions of a coyote guiding him, discussions of his somewhat accidental creation of lemon pepper wet wings, and what it was like behind the scenes in the writer’s room of 30 Rock .

Gambino also made Hot Ones history by starring on the earliest filmed episode, with the comedian and singer revealing that the filming took place bright and early at 9 a.m.

“Y’all don’t know this, but it’s 9 a.m.,” Gambino revealed to viewers, as Evans confirmed, “I’d like to announce, and to officially make it a part of the record, this is the earliest Hot Ones shoot in the history of the show.”

Gambino said, “You know, I try to do something different every time for everything, this was definitely it. I was like, let me get this poop out by lunch.”

Evan concurred, “Right, have the rest of your day.”
