It’s never a bad day when there are new episodes of Cobra Kai to devour. The return of Johnny “ Send it to the internet! ” Lawrence should be a national holiday, but the sixth season premiere is bittersweet when you consider there are only ten episodes left before the epic San Fernando Valley youth karate war comes to an end.

We will forever be #Hashbrown Team Cobra Kai.

As fans recover from the shocking conclusion of Part 1 and prepare for Team Miyagi-Do to battle the world at the Sekai Taikai, we’re looking ahead to Parts 2 and 3. Series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are all about embracing the legacy of The Karate Kid franchise to create memorable Cobra Kai moments . There have been countless callbacks and references to the previous films, but there are still a few key moments we need to see before the sun sets on Cobra Kai .

‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6, Part 1 Ending Explained: How Will Mr. Miyagi’s Past and Tory’s Future Impact Part 2 and Beyond?

Legacy characters don’t just randomly show up on Cobra Kai . Ali Mills, Terry Silver, and Mike Barnes were referenced and shown via flashbacks before Elisabeth Shue, Thomas Ian Griffith, and Sean Kanan appeared on the show.

We learned in Season 2’s Cobra Kai reunion episode (“Take a Right”) that Dutch (Chad McQueen) was in Lompac prison. McQueen reportedly didn’t appear in the episode because he retired from acting to focus on his career as a race car driver.

“We actually talked to Chad,” co-creator Josh Heald told Entertainment Weekly during a 2019 interview . “Schedules were such that it wasn’t feasible for him to join us this time around, but we certainly mentioned his character being alive and in a very particular place on purpose. We could perhaps visit that story another time.”

Hmm. Interesting. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Dutch was once again referenced in the Season 6 episode “The Prize.” It’s also worth mentioning that an older post on McQueen’s Instagram page noting that McQueen would not be appearing in the series has been deleted.

When Does ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6, Part 2 Come Out on Netflix?

In the original movie, Mr. Miyagi gives Daniel one of his cars, a cream-colored 1947 Ford Super DeLuxe convertible , as a birthday gift. It’s the same car Daniel and Miguel are in during their heart-to-heart convo from Season 3’s “Feel the Night.” A fun full-circle moment would be Daniel giving the car to Miguel ( and/or Robby ) as he effectively passes the torch to the next generation of karate kids.

Fun fact: Production actually gave Ralph Macchio the 1947 convertible after shooting wrapped on Karate Kid III . He still owns it to this day.

We covered the Julie Pierce of it all in an earlier article . Swank previously stated that she wouldn’t be appearing in the final season of Cobra Kai , but we believe Julie Pierce will be involved in some capacity during the final ten episodes. I mean… c’mon! It’s Cobra Kai ! Not only are they the kings of nostalgia casting, but showrunners Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg know how badly fans want to see Swank appear in the series.

If I had to guess — and this is pure speculation — I’d say the new revelations about Mr. Miyagi will lead to Daniel seeking answers about his mentor from one Ms. Julie Pierce. I have no idea if it’ll be a quick cameo, an episode, or a longer storyline that would lead to a showdown with formidable Cobra Kai baddie Kim Da-Eun, but I’d bet on the return of Julie.

If you’re a fan of the original Karate Kid franchise, you know in your heart of hearts that Cobra Kai is saving Joe Esposito’s iconic bop for a crucial moment. The show has utilized a slew of tunes from the original films — “Cruel Summer,” “Young Hearts,” and “Feel the Night,” to name a few — but “You’re the Best” is synonymous with Daniel LaRusso and The Karate Kid .

Hopefully, they’re saving the best for last.

Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Part 2 premieres November 15.
