The Recall
California-based Wehah Farms has voluntarily recalled 4,600 cases of its Lundberg Family Farms Sustainable Wild Blend Gourmet Rice. The product may contain foreign objects that appear to be of rodent origin. The recall was initiated on May 10, 2024, and is ongoing.

The affected products, which come in 1lb bags and bear the lot code 231004, have a best-before date of October 4, 2024. The recall only affects products sold in Arizona, California, Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, Oregon, and Wisconsin.

The Risk
The FDA has classified the recall as a Class II risk. This classification is used when exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

The Response
Wehah Farms has not yet commented on how rodent parts contaminated the product. Consumers and retailers are advised not to use the product. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to their place of purchase.
