Koe Wetzel has pulled out of Country Thunder Wisconsin, where he was set to be a headliner, due to illness. He posted the announcement last night, July 17, on his Instagram account. Wetzel has a new album coming out at midnight tomorrow titled 9 Lives, and his post expressed regret that he can’t celebrate the album release with fans.

“I’ve been waiting to see if I felt better as the day went on because I really didn’t want to have to make this call, but I am too sick to perform tomorrow at Country Thunder Wisconsin,” Wetzel wrote on Instagram. He continued, “We were really looking forward to celebrating the new album with y’all, but I know that lineup will put on a hell of a show. I’m working on a way to make it up to y’all… more soon, and I hope to catch you on the road again soon.”

Koe Wetzel was slated to perform tonight, July 18, at Country Thunder Wisconsin, but Randy Houser will fill in for him. Other performers at the concert include Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Nickelback, and Bailey Zimmerman. Additionally, Country Thunder released a statement, adding another artist to the lineup.

“Koe Wetzel will no longer be performing at Country Thunder Wisconsin July 18 due to illness,” the statement reads. “Randy Houser will now be headlining with new addition Charlie Argo opening – and we can’t wait for them to bring the house down!”

With the announcement posted to Instagram, fans commented and shared their disappointment. They wished Wetzel a speedy recovery, though, as he continues on the road.

“[It] truly says something for this man to cancel a show,” one fan wrote, speaking to Koe Wetzel’s work ethic. Another joked, “You earned this hangover,” while another commented, “NOOO!! I was looking forward to seeing you the most!! Hope you feel better soon!”

One fan commented, “Hope you & Wallen are both feeling better for Vegas! Coming from Canada for both shows,” mentioning the recent illness Morgan Wallen suffered in Florida.

Fans will get a new album from Wetzel at midnight on Friday, though, which is something to celebrate. He previously released four singles from 9 Lives, which included “High Road,” “9 Lives (Black Cat),” “Damn Near Normal,” and “Sweet Dreams.”
