Here in the United States, there’s no questioning our love for coffee and snacks . The two go perfectly hand-in-hand. In most cities, it would be difficult to walk even 10 steps without running into an establishment selling both. But according to a 2022 survey , Australians have been giving us a run for our money.

With a whopping 75-percent of its population reporting the indulgence in at least one cup of joe per day, and 28-percent claiming three cups or more, Australia's love for coffee is no doubt a serious matter. So serious, in fact, that Doritos went ahead and created a limited-edition, coffee-flavored chip just for the good people of Australia to enjoy.

Rumor has it that Doritos dreamed up the new flavor as a way to help Aussies get their midday fix when all the cafe’s have closed by 3 p.m. The brand made an announcement via Instagram to give fans all the details on the Australia-exclusive giveaway.

To enter, fans just needed to engage with the Doritos Coffee social post on either TikTok, Facebook or Instagram. By simply responding to the caption with “what is making you mad right now,” fans would be entered for a chance to win a pack of the Doritos Coffee chips. “The 25 grumpiest answers per day win,” Doritos wrote in their post.

The sad news is that residents of the US will not get a chance to win one of the 300 bags up for grabs, however, reviews of the uniquely tasty snack have been making their way onto TikTok for our enjoyment. With reports of a “cinnamon-y, coffee taste” that is both “salty” and “sweet,” it sounds like the new flavor pairing turned out to be a success, albeit a very limited release.

This certainly isn’t the first time Doritos has experimented with interesting new flavors that seem to come out of left field, and we always hope these international flavors somehow find their way over here to the States. For now though, we’ll just enjoy the Ketchup and Mustard re-release of our own and the growing variety of Flaming Hot options to boot.
