NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Heavy rain throughout the Greater New Orleans region is causing street flooding and power outages in some areas on Thursday, July 18.

Around 1:20 p.m., officials with NOLA Ready announced that neutral ground parking would be allowed until 8 p.m. due to the high chances of flooding within the city.

They are also advising drivers to avoid flooded areas as it is dangerous and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.
