Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund has reacted to the club's impending signing of Lille defender Leny Yoro .

The Red Devils had their offer accepted for the 18-year-old last weekend, despite the player's interest in a move to Real Madrid. However, the Spanish giants failed to match United's bid. Yoro has now completed the initial part of his medical with United and is on course to sign a five-year deal, with an option for a sixth year in the Premier League .

Yoro turned heads with his performances in both Ligue 1 and the Europa Conference League with Lille last season. He clocked up 44 appearances across all competitions as the club secured a fourth-place finish in the league.

Hojlund appears to be pleased with Yoro's imminent arrival. The United forward 'liked' a post on Instagram by Fabrizio Romano reporting that the first part of the medical has been completed and the contract signing is set to follow.

Hojlund is currently enjoying an extended break after representing Denmark in Euro 2024, where the team suffered a 2-0 defeat against host nation Germany at the round of 16 stage.

Yoro could have also been on international duty this summer after being included in Thierry Henry's provisional squad for the Paris Olympics but was omitted from the final squad. This may have cleared his schedule to facilitate the move to Old Trafford.

Should the deal go through as anticipated, Yoro will be the second summer signing for United. The club recently confirmed a deal for forward Joshua Zirkzee, fresh from his Euro 2024 campaign with the Netherlands.

Liverpool.com says: Hojlund should be happy! Yoro is an exciting defender and will be a fine addition to United's roster, with the club moving away from its scattergun approach in the transfer market. It'll be interesting to see how Yoro gets on in the Premier League.
