Manchester United is eyeing up several potential transfer targets this summer.

The Red Devils have already made their first move in the market, securing the signature of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The forward has committed his future to United until 2029, and he's set to be joined in the Premier League by defender Leny Yoro.

Erik ten Hag has been busy evaluating his squad during the initial stages of pre-season training. However, some players are yet to make an appearance after being granted extended holidays due to their participation in Euro 2024 and Copa America.

United has until September 2 to finalize any additional signings, with Brentford's Ivan Toney on its transfer shortlist. Despite the recent acquisition of Zirkzee from Bologna, The Athletic suggests that United could still bolster its attacking options.

The Red Devils aim to add more depth to their striking department, hence their interest in Toney. With Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee already providing competition for the No. 9 role, the addition of Toney would certainly heat up the battle for a starting berth.

And, as reported by GOAL , Brentford has slashed its asking price for Toney to $65 million. The England striker, 28, has entered the final year of his contract.

Liverpool.com says: Toney is now in the second half of his career, but he'd still be a brilliant signing for any Premier League team at just $65 million. Perhaps Liverpool should make a cheeky bid!
