‘Rebellious’ 4-year-old shocks mom by piercing her own ears: ‘I was proud of her’

Any parent knows — turn your back for one second and it’s anyone’s guess what kind of trouble the kids are going to get into.

Mom-of-three Brianna Attias received a sharp reminder of the rule this week when her young daughter shockingly managed to pierce her own ears after being unsupervised for mere minutes.

“I would have never expected something like that,” the Toronto-based content creator , 28, told The Post of the precocious child’s surprising behavior.

Attias was putting on makeup in the bathroom when Everly, 4, strolled in and proudly announced that she had pierced her own ears using an old earring from her mom’s drawer.

While Attias thought it was a joke at first, upon closer inspection she realized that her daughter had indeed punctured her ear with a stud — all the way through the lobe.

When asked if it hurt, Everly said: “No.”

“She’s our rebellious one,” Attias said of Everly, whose mischievous personality differs greatly from other two siblings, Caiden, 6, and Isla, 2.

“She acts way older than what she is.”

Both Attias and her husband, Cameron, were “shocked and “blown away” by Everly’s bold behavior. But rather than get angry or upset, they found themselves laughing.

After shaking off their disbelief and assessing the youngster to make sure she was alright, they even offered to take their little one to a professional piercer to piece the other ear, but the 4-year-old insisted she could do it herself — and that she did, without even flinching.

“It may sound kind of crazy, but I was proud of her,” Attias said, joking that she, too, “was a kid once” and that they “saved money” with Everly’s DIY method.

“Every day she wakes up and goes, ‘Mommy, I love my earrings.'”

After taking a trip to a professional to pick out 10 carat gold earrings, the pair sat their daughter down to sternly inform her of the risks of self-piercing the body, and warned her to not do so again, concerned that her rebellious streak wasn’t going to end there.

In fact, just before starting Pre-K, Everly took a pair of safety scissors to her hair, which “affected me more than the ears,” Attias admitted.

The stay-at-home parent also bought fake piercings that allowed Everly to try out nose rings and other jewelry without the permanence, giving her a taste for it temporarily, so she wasn’t tempted to DIY another piercing.

The entire ordeal was posted on TikTok, where the video subsequently went viral and reached millions of viewers including Julia Fox, who assured the concerned mama that she had done the same as a kid.

“I pierced my own ears in elementary school, so don’t worry she’s on the right path,” Fox commented on the family’s social media.

That made the content creator feel better about a slew of negative comments, scolding the parents for taking their eyes off their young daughter long enough for her for pierce a hole through her lobe.

“The people commenting on this definitely do not have kids because they can do things in a matter of five seconds,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if you’re hovering over them or around the corner, if they want to do something they’re going to do it.”
