Kevin Jonas Reveals the Deeply Personal Reason He & Wife Danielle Haven’t Tried for Baby No. 3

Kevin Jonas is a proud girl dad who got incredibly candid about family life during a recent appearance on The Viall Files podcast. The singer shares two daughters — Alena, 10 and Valentina, 7 — with wife Danielle Jonas, and the possibility of a third child is apparently not off the table. The couple was taking an intentional pause in a family planning journey that could continue.

“We took some health time for my wife,” Jonas told host Nick Viall, explaining that Danielle has Lyme disease .

“So she really wanted to get that right. She’s kind of only coming out of it now, in a good way, which is wonderful.”

The sometimes chronic disease can leave those impacted suffering from a plethora of symptoms for years, so it’s great to hear that things are looking up. And it sounds like the possibility of welcoming Baby No. 3 is now on the table.

“If it’s God’s will, we’ll see,” the singer said, per Us Weekly . ” … Like all things, it just takes time and figuring out your life. But definitely not ruling it out.”

If the couple were to have another baby, Jonas thinks it would feel like welcoming a firstborn again since his daughters are so much older.

“[Alena] came downstairs this morning and she had a cold ice roller on her face while she made herself breakfast,” Kevin said. “ … She came down dressed, made herself breakfast and was getting ready for camp and rolling her face, like, my life is amazing right now. I’ll take it.” Right?! He really is living the life. His oldest has gotten so independent and he probably gets to sleep in every once in a while now.

“Do I want to be changing diapers?” Jonas asked himself. “Maybe not, but at the same time, I love babies and I love having kids, so why not? Let’s go.”

He, his wife, and Alena might feel that way, but Valentina has no interest in welcoming a little sibling.

“[Valentina] is our little rock star [and] she’s like, ‘No way. No babies.’” And we can’t really blame the baby of the family for not wanting to lose all the love and attention that comes with being the baby.

She seems to have a similar reaction when she goes to see her dad and uncles Nick and Joe Jonas perform at a Jonas Brothers concert.

“She kind of understands what’s going on, but not really,” Danielle said in an interview this past fall. “So she gets nervous at them but then is just so excited to see them up on stage.”

“And then she says, ‘Well, does Uncle Nick love me and does Uncle Joe love me?’ And it’s like, because there’s so many fans that are screaming at them and she’s like, ‘Well they’re mine.’”

Aww how cute is that?! They certainly are yours, Valentina! And your parents will still be yours too if they decide to welcome Baby Jonas No. 3.
