Fighting with a giant TV network isn’t for the faint of heart, but the author of a recent Big Brother tell-all is going there. Brody Stuart-Verner wrote The Big Brother Bible: 25 Years of America’s Summertime Guilty Pleasure and made a handful of claims against CBS and the producers of Big Brother. Among them, he claimed that the producers were intentionally discriminatory in their casting process.

When writing the book, Brody interviewed over a hundred producers and contestants. He claimed that Big Brother producers intentionally cast racists and avoided casting transgender people. CBS didn’t like any of this, and now that his explosive claims have gone to print, they’re trying to shut him down via litigation.

    Brody vs Big Brother

Brody spoke to Radar Online about his legal dispute with CBS. Apparently, they told him that he needed their permission before interviewing past Big Brother contestants . They also sent him a cease and desist and threatened to sue him for sharing unsubstantiated claims about their casting process. However, Brody is standing by his work.

“I’m a long-time fan and viewer, and I want to see the show succeed. The defensive of the network and series Executive Producers indicates an unwillingness to listen—and perhaps this is why the show’s ratings are at an all-time low today,” Brody told the outlet, with just a tinge of shade.

According to Brody, CBS didn’t share any specific inaccuracies related to the book. They denied everything and just sent a vague letter threatening a lawsuit. Brody said that he felt pretty confident that was nothing more than an intimidation tactic from CBS to avoid him doing any further writing about the show. Clearly, that didn’t work.

He explained, “CBS’s lack of response, particularly when asked to specify which areas it disagrees with, speaks for itself.”

The Big Brother tell-all book, and the associated drama with CBS, come right alongside the premiere of of Big Brother 26 . The all-new season is “AI-themed .” Let’s hope that the algorithm didn’t take any notes from the people Brody wrote about in his book.

Season 26 of Big Brother airs on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS at 9/8c.
