After one season with the Jets, Randall Cobb has determined his next career venture — one away from the football field.

On Thursday, ESPN announced that the 33-year-old receiver had joined SEC Network as a college football studio analyst.

“I am incredibly excited to be coming home to the SEC with this new role,” Cobb said. “The level of greatness this conference provides year after year is unmatched – I cannot wait [to] return to the conference family with this SEC Network crew.”

After playing 10 of the first 12 seasons of his career in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers, Cobb headed to the Jets to reunite with the four-time MVP quarterback on a one-year deal.

However, Rodgers was lost for the seasons after four offensive plays and Cobb’s chemistry did not carry over to Zach Wilson.

Cobb appeared in only 11 games, with five catches for 39 yards and one touchdown in 2023.

The veteran missed six games during the Jets’ disappointing 7-10 season due to both a shoulder injury and being ruled a healthy scratch .

Having remained unsigned entering training camp, Cobb elected to join the broadened SEC Network as the conference ushers in powerhouses Texas and Oklahoma.

Cobb spent his three-year college career at Kentucky, accumulating 2,974 scrimmage yards and 35 all-around touchdowns in Lexington.

The quarterback-turned-receiver, who was an All-American in 2010, was inducted into the Wildcats’ Hall of Fame in 2017.

Despite the fact that Cobb will now be spending weekends preparing for studio analysis, the wideout is apparently not closing the curtain all the way on his career.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Cobb has not officially retired and is “still open” to playing in the NFL “if an opportunity arises.”

Cobb is set to join host Alyssa Lang on the “Out of Pocket” show and will also appear on “SEC Now” alongside analysts Takeo Spikes, Chris Doering, Benjamin Watson and Matt Stinchcomb.

Thursday’s news comes under a month after Cobb and his family had to escape from a harrowing house fire caused by a Tesla charger.

Cobb and the rest of the SEC Network team will get to analyze live SEC college football starting on Thursday, Aug. 29, when Arkansas hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mizzou faces off with Murray State.
