BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Bay High School alum are making sure the school’s centennial anniversary is one to remember. Several events will be held throughout the year to celebrate.

“Homecoming is going to be a really big deal because we will have a huge tailgate party for all the alumni. There will be a hundred years of scholars recognized, 100 years of the arts,” Bay High School alumna and physics teacher Pam Wiggins said.

Alum are raising money for these events through class banner sales.

“We are selling avenue banners. They will be displayed all over the campus and hopefully down Harrison Avenue because 100 years, we should get a lot of banners,” Wiggins said.

Profits made from the 30×60 banners will go towards funding the centennial events. Everyone is welcome to buy a banner.

“That will be for each class to purchase a banner, for families. We already have families purchasing banners because we have generations of students, bay high graduates here, and any businesses that want to support us,” Wiggins said.

Wiggins said she hopes everyone has an opportunity to participate in the festivities.

“I’m excited as an alumni. I know my class is really excited. We didn’t want to do one celebration at homecoming because people may not be able to make it to the homecoming, and we want to have them all year long. Anyone that wants to come can come,” Wiggins added.
