Now that The Acolyte is over, fans are wondering when the next Star Wars TV show will be coming out. Disney has been churning out series at a regular pace since The Mandalorian debuted in 2019, and another one will premiere soon. So, read below to see which Star Wars series is next in the pipeline and when you can expect a release date.

When will the next Star Wars TV series be released?

The next Star Wars TV series to release will be Skeleton Crew. It’s set to come out around Christmas 2024, but a firm release date hasn’t been set.

We haven’t heard a ton about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. We know that it’s set during roughly the same time frame as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka and that it features a cast of four children trying to make their way home. Jude Law plays an adult Force-user lead, and other members of the cast include:

    • Tunde Adebimpe
    • Ryan Kiera Armstrong
    • Ravi Cabot-Conyers
    • Kerry Condon
    • Kyriana Kratter
    • Robert Timothy Smith
    • Jaleel White

The first season of Skeleton Crew will run for eight episodes.

Filming on the series was completed on January 22, 2023, and the show was initially set to be released last year. For some reason, Disney decided to push it almost into 2025. Whether that’s because of production issues or the company wanting to spread out its Star Wars releases isn’t known.

Fans eagerly await more details and hope the delay will be worth it for a high-quality addition to the Star Wars universe. As Disney continues to expand the Star Wars franchise, expectations are high for Skeleton Crew. With its intriguing premise and talented cast, the series will hopefully meet a better reception than The Acolyte did. The most recent series disappointed many, and Disney’s track record with the franchise continues to be poor outside of a few outliers.
