JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. ( WKRG ) — Drivers on I-10 in Jackson County Wednesday saw what the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation called an “alleged road rage incident.”

Video captured by Mobile couple Bill and Jaclyn Robinson, the owners of Mo’Bay Beignet Company, showed a wounded man running away from a crash on I-10, and two others chasing behind, one of them holding a gun.

Another video showed what appeared to be a gray sedan crashed into a ditch between the eastbound and westbound lanes.

“I was actually sitting in the passenger seat on my phone checking some emails and my husband gets my attention and he says, ‘Get your phone, start videoing, look at this,'” Jaclyn Robinson recalled. “I immediately just switched my phone to camera mode, started videoing and, you know, we didn’t know what we were witnessing. We just knew that it was serious, especially once we saw the man in the red shirt running with the gun and he was dodging cars on the interstate eastbound trying to get to the other guy.”

The Robinsons were passing through Ocean Springs on their way to New Orleans, heading westbound on the interstate when they approached slowed traffic and swerving vehicles just before 4 p.m.

“I saw commotion ahead, people putting on their brakes in their car, and I thought maybe traffic was getting backed up. As we got closer, I saw that there were a couple of cars in the median. We slowed down, I almost came to a complete stop,” Bill Robinson explained. “And then all of a sudden I’m hearing, I see a couple of guys running first in the median, and I told my wife, I said, ‘They’re running. What are they? I don’t know what they’re running from.’ And then all of a sudden I hear gunshot.”

According to MBI officials, one person suffered non life threatening injuries, and two people were taken into custody.

Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said their deputies arrested two people, and at least one person is being charged. The victim is expected to be OK.
