Joe Jonas is teasing his "most personal music yet" after receiving blessings from the Jonas Brothers to create a new solo album.

The 34-year-old singer opened up about his new music and journey to creating his new work during a guest apperance on Jake Shane's podcast Therapuss . During their lively chat, Joe spoke about his upcoming project that he admitted he felt was too personal to him to release with the Jonas Brothers or his other rock band DNCE.

After writing one of the songs on his upcoming album, Joe explained: "After listening to it I was like damn I really like this song and I started to feel like I don't know why but I want this song for myself not just the brothers," he continued: "So I asked for my brothers blessings and I was like 'Hey I want to work on - I don't want to call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own - and I don't feel like it's DNCE and I just need to go express some stuff for myself. And they were like go for it."

The Burning Up hitmaker went on to explain that his brothers were in full support of his passion project and went on to book their own creative pursuits as he focused on the album. Joe explained that his brothers were also booked and busy during the time as his brother Nick Jonas landed a role in a movie and Kevin Jonas was starring in another season of Claim to Fame.

During that window of opportunity, Joe said that he locked himself away with a "bunch of incredible singer-songwriters" and knocked out the album in just two weeks. He gushed: "I’m really, really excited. It’s the most personal music I’ve ever put out."

The father of two described his new album as being "all over the place" with songs inspired from a variety of experiences throughout his adulthood from raising his two daughters to his public divorce from Sophie Turner. He explained: "There’s some real beautiful ballads, there’s some songs about being a dad, there’s songs about love, there’s songs about being better to yourself - kind of everything."

While Joe hasn't confirmed the release date for his upcoming album just yet, his single Work It Out is set to release this upcoming Friday. Speaking on the new track, Joe explained: "We wrote it really quickly. The idea is that sometimes you realize that you just have to shake yourself out of something and you’re the only person that’s going to fix it for yourself - no-one’s going to come save you. It’s an emotional lyric with fun music.”

In the YouTube comments, long-time JoBro fans gushed over Joe's personable interview and called for him to be a returning guest on the podcast. One fan wrote: "I genuinely did not know Joe was this charismatic and nice. Jake, thanks for having him." And another added: "God he’s so soft/well spoken… this just makes me so in love with him." And a third added: "This made my entire morning, week, month, year, and life. Thank you for doing the lords work."
