Davante Adams Boldly Stakes His Claim Against Other Wide Receivers

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had no shortage of confidence when discussing the best receivers in the NFL at this very moment, and he had zero problems putting himself first.

“If you say the best, [myself], and you probably go [Jefferson] after that.” Adams said.

Playing for a Raiders team that really hasn’t been all that competitive since arriving has started to put Adams under the radar; however, during his time with the Green Bay Packers, many would've considered him the consensus number one wideout in the league.

Now with guys like Justin Jefferson , Tyreek Hill , Ja’Marr Chase , and CeeDee Lamb, there are a lot more names in the question. ESPN conducted a poll ranking the top ten receivers in the league voted on by executives, scouts, and coaches, and Adams came in as the 5th best in the NFL, behind the four listed above.

Over the last two seasons with the Raiders, Adams has racked up 203 receptions, 2,660 yards, 22 touchdowns, and averaged over 11.0 yards per reception in both years. Since entering the league in 2008, he has been one of the most productive and effective players in the NFL and surely has the right to consider himself the best at the position after all he’s accomplished in his career thus far.
