DENVER ( KDVR ) — Political leaders on both sides of the aisle are asking voters to dial back divisive rhetoric following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Despite that, some lawmakers have continued to place the blame on one another for amplifying political, violent sentiments. Regardless of the warnings “ Colorado Point of View ” political analysts say the polarizing commentary will likely increase ahead of the November election.

Could Project 2025 become a reality if Trump wins?

“As we move further into this campaign, I don’t think this is going to calm down much,” said Democratic analyst Andy Boian.

He added that the rhetoric calmed down temporarily, but increased again during the Republican National Convention.

“At the end of the day … this rhetoric will come back at some level, hopefully not at the level it has been,” Boian said.

    Republican analyst Michael Fields agrees.

“I think there could be small progress,” Fields said. “I think it is a good reminder to everybody this is going to be a really heated election for a lot of good reasons, but we can’t let it get this far. We have to tone it down some.”
