While the Indiana Fever lost to the Dallas Wings 101-93 on July 17, Caitlin Clark's phenomenal performance left viewers in awe. During the fourth quarter, the rookie broke the WNBA record for the most assists (19) in a single game.

Clark, who also put up 24 points and 6 rebounds, remained as humble as ever after the game. "I just try to set my teammates up for success," Clark told reporters. "I think at times I can almost overpass ... especially with [Aliyah Boston], I'm just looking to set her up so much. My eyes are just always on our post players."

While the No. 1 overall pick downplayed her historic performance, social media filled with applause for her record-breaking accomplishment. Former NFL star Le'Veon Bell added to the conversation on X.

"I missed Michael Jordan’s prime, I will NOT miss Caitlin Clarks," he posted, which racked up over 214,000 views. One fan commented, "I was around for Jordan's and this has a similar feeling fr." Bell replied , "facts," with a 100 emoji.

One man wrote , "What’s scary… it’s not even her prime." Another fan added , "I'm lucky I was there for Magic and Bird, Michael, now Caitlin."

However, not everyone appreciated Bell comparing Clark to Jordan, the most dominant NBA champion of all time. One fan wrote ,"Ridiculous comparison," while another person wrote , "Stop trying to compare Clark with Jordan she will never be on Jordan level! Jordan had heart and wasn’t scared to shoot Clark be wide open and pass the ball because she scared if she miss the backlash she would get."

Jordan, the NBA's Rookie of the Year in 1985, earned 14 All-Star nods during his 15 seasons in the league. The six-time NBA Champion and Finals MVP was twice inducted into the Hall of Fame.

As for Clark, she's competing in her first All-star game this weekend and is in the running to become Rookie of the Year. The Fever enter the Olympic break in 7th place with an 11-15 record.
