Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance.

In 2016 as Donald Trump prepared for his first term in the White House, JD Vance released his memoir titled "Hillbilly Elegy," which would go on to become a New York Times bestseller with a film adaptation created later that saw significant success on streaming giant Netflix.

Now that Vance has been chosen by the Trump campaign to run on the GOP ticket as their nominee's choice for vice president, book sales for Vance's memoir have soared, and the 2020 film adaptation of the same name has jumped back into Netflix's top 10.

The book shot back up to the top of Amazon's bestsellers less than 24 hours after Vance was announced as Trump's running mate. The film version was up to No. 6 on Netflix's top 10 most-watched , Scripps News reported citing data from Luminate. According to the latest numbers, prior to July 14 the film wasn't in Netflix's top 10 , before Vance was announced on the Trump ticket on Day 1 of the RNC.

Amazon indicated on its product page for the book that it could take weeks for Prime members to receive orders of the book.
