Bethesda, OHIO (WTRF) – Epworth Park is often referred to as the Hidden Gem of Belmont County.

Also known as the “Garden of Oaks” it was created in 1870 as a Methodist retreat, then became a post of the Chautauqua movement, which was an entertainment and education movement popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Epworth Park Foundation in Belmont County recently became a new 503(c)(3).

They wanted to meet with what they describe as “like-minded individuals,” on ways for their organization to move forward, so they held a meet and greet Thursday evening.

“Anybody that would like to come out and visit, come visit. People are very friendly, they love their cottages, they’d love to show you in their cottages. Stop out and visit.”

Doug Frizzi – President of the Epworth Park Foundation

These cottages aren’t insulated, so residents only frequent the cottages from April 1st to November 1st.

Their owners come from California, Arizona, Georgia, Florida and more. They hold events throughout the year, and host weddings.

Epworth Park is located in Bethesda, and for more details visit their website.
