Caitlin Clark has helped the WNBA with a massive surge of attention this season, and sometime in the near future the Indiana Fever rookie could reap the rewards.

As The Associated Press reported , the NBA's Board of Governors approved a new 11-year media rights deal that will be worth close to $76 billion. The deal included $2.2 billion for the WNBA, which the report noted could have a big impact on player salaries in the future.

The Associated Press specifically called out Clark and her low rookie salary, noting that players like Clark could see a big boost to their pay in the future.

"The new revenue could greatly increase player salaries which has been an issue for many years," the report noted. "Since the league was founded in 1997 players have gone overseas to supplement their incomes. The top base salary this year is $242,000 with players potentially earning over half a million through salary, marketing agreements and bonuses. Right now Caitlin Clark makes $76,000 as the No. 1 pick in the draft."

Clark could also help bring more revenue to the WNBA in the future. Terri Jackson, the executive director of the WNBA players’ union, told The Associated Press that she believes the league is "undervalued" as popularity is at an all-time high.
