WORCESTER, MA – The City of Worcester is set to inaugurate its new 311 Customer Service Center with a ribbon-cutting event scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 799 Main St. The ceremony will commence at 3 p.m., introducing a pivotal resource for city residents to access various municipal services efficiently.

The Worcester 311 service acts as a one-stop resource for all non-emergency inquiries, allowing residents to submit service requests via multiple channels including the Worcester 311 Mobile App, online web chat, Facebook Messenger, email, or by simply dialing 311. For those outside the city limits, requests can be made by calling 508-929-1300. The service center operates from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with hours extended during winter storms or other city emergencies.

The newly opened center at 799 Main St. will offer a range of municipal services such as issuing birth and death certificates, dog licenses, business certificates, and handling passport registrations and renewals. Additionally, it will be equipped to deal with walk-in constituent concerns relating to trash and recycling, streets and sidewalks, nuisances, fallen trees, and more.

Residents will also find the city’s first yellow trash bag vending machine at the site, enhancing convenience for city service access. The center is a significant step in improving service delivery and making city administration more accessible to the public.

For issues requiring immediate public safety or medical response, residents are reminded to call 911. For all other non-emergency service requests, the Worcester 311 platform provides a seamless way to submit problems 24/7, enhancing civic engagement and ensuring timely responses from the city.

City officials and community leaders will be present at the ribbon-cutting event to discuss the benefits of the 311 service and its impact on community service management.
