OAKLAND, Calif. ( KRON ) – The Oakland A's have finally released some details about their plans to finance a new stadium in Las Vegas. The details were shared at a meeting of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority Thursday afternoon.

A's executive Sandy Dean told board members the $1.5 billion stadium will be financed in three parts.

2025 schedule for the A's first year in West Sacramento released

Taxpayer funds will make up $350 million, which is $30 million less than what was earmarked by the legislature. Another $300 million will be borrowed through debt financing, but while Dean says there has been interest, so far the A's have yet to secure a lender. Dean says the remaining $850 million dollars will be the responsibility of A's owner John Fisher.

Dean says the Fisher family could do all of the required equity for the project, but they would like to have outside investors from the Las Vegas area. Dean says they have held off on reaching out to potential investors until they had a more refined design of the stadium.

While this is more information than we've had in some time, baseball insiders say there are key questions that still need to be answered

"Who are those owners that might come in and may assist Fisher in that gap of $1.2 billion? Can you show us the working architectural drawings that you can start building on at some point? No, you can't. Have you gotten approval from Major League Baseball on who those additional owners might be to join Fisher in the A's ownership? No, you can't because you either don’t know their names or you don’t have them," said former A's executive Andy Dolich.

Also during the meeting, Dean shared details on the stadium itself, saying the ballpark has been located just a bit northeast of the center of the site. The orientation of the ballpark will be towards MGM Grand and New York, New York.
