Above and beyond: Here are Tuxedo's scholar athletes for 2023-24

The Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association recently honored its top senior student-athletes for each high school. Tuxedo High School selected Veronica Chavez Granillo and Jake Sandak.

Veronica Chavez Granillo

Class Rank: 3

Varsity Sports: Volleyball

Academic Honors/Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society Vice President; Student Council President

Athletic Honors: Varsity volleyball captain; junior varsity basketball captain

Community Service: National Honor Society and Student Council events

Future Plans: Rockland Community College for two years, then Purchase College to major in Architecture

Jake Sandak

GPA: 96.44

Class Rank: 2

Varsity Sports: Basketball

Academic Honors/Extracurricular Activities: Salutatorian; Interact President; National Honor Society; Student Council

Athletic Honors: Team Captain; Varsity Letters

Community Service: 200 hours working at a summer camp; National Honor Society; Interact Club

Future Plans: Ramapo College, to major in Political Science and participate on a Club team
