This Saturday, the Octagon returns to the Apex Center for another showcase of the rank-and-file roster for UFC Vegas 94. A pivotal women’s strawweight fight will headline as Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba battle to push closer towards the division title.

With only one other ranked fighter in the entire event, this will serve as more of a placeholder ahead of next week’s UFC 304.

Here are some bold UFC Vegas 94 predictions

Amanda Lemos (14-3-1) vs. Virna Jandiroba (20-3)

It’s very likely that the main event between Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba will determine the next challenger for Weili Zhang. While it would be best for the division for Jandiroba to come out victorious and provide a fresh match for the champion, she certainly has a tough test ahead.

Lemos’ superior athletic ability, size, and strength could prove to be very difficult for Jandiroba to apply her technical wrestling-based approach. However, over the course of five rounds she should be able to stalemate her opponent enough for the judges’ nod in a slow-paced fight.

    Prediction: Jandiroba by Decision

Brad Tavares (20-9) vs. Jun Yong Park (17-6)

Brad Tavares will once again assume the role of middleweight gatekeeper in the co-main event against Jun Yong Park. Park is looking to rebound from a split decision loss to Andre Muniz which snapped a four-fight winning streak.

Tavares has had a rough go since 2022 with his sole win being against a shopworn and one-legged Chris Weidman. Several years ago, this would have been another case of the Hawaiian halting the ascension of another 185-pound hopeful. But with his recent performances, it feels like Park should get his hand raised. Tavares likely survives to the distance

    Prediction: Park via Decision

Steve Garcia (15-5) vs. Seung Woo Choi (11-6)

In what could end up being the entertainment highlight of the main card, featherweights Steve Garcia and Seung Woo Choi will lock horns. Garcia will enter the cage with the momentum of three stoppage wins while Choi bounced back with a decision win after dropping three straight.

Garcia’s love for a good old-fashioned brawl should inform the pace of the bout. While Choi has the ability to slow things down for a more technical affair, Garcia will likely force things into his own comfort zone.

Prediction: Garcia by TKO, Round 2

Kurt Holobaugh (20-8) vs. Kayan Kruschewsky (15-2)

Lightweights Kurt Holobaugh and Kayan Krushchewsky should provide another healthy portion of violence for the evening. With both men coming off of losses, expect them to take a proactive approach and get to business early.

This serves as a good litmus test for Krushchewsky. If he can get past a tenured veteran like Holobaugh, it means he’s at least a prospect to keep an eye on. This will be a close fight but the younger man with less miles might be the best pick.

    Prediction: Kruschewsky by Decision

Cody Durden (16-5-1) vs. Bruno Silva (13-5-2)

The flyweight scrap between Cody Durden and Bruno Silva is an evenly matched bout that could go either way on the visceral appeal. Durden is an aggressive wrestler that has the ability to smother his opponents and control the clock. Silva, even with a sporadic activity since 2021, he is a proven finisher with three in a row in the Octagon.

When in doubt, it’s hard to pick against the wrestler who has been putting in rounds on the big stage. Durden likely gets the nod.

    Prediction: Durden by Decision

Doo Hoo Choi (14-4-1) vs. Bill Algeo (18-8)

Doo Hoo Choi and Bill Algeo will serve as the main card opener and could provide a fair amount of action. When we last saw Choi, he looked like an overall improved version of the reckless brawler that put on a thriller against Cub Swanson in 2016. But that it was over a year ago and the gap continues an unfortunate streak of long layoffs. Algeo is coming off of a loss in March that ended a two-fight win streak.

Facing a hard hitter like “The Korean Superboy” so soon after getting sparked in the first round would normally be a recipe for disaster. However, we’re also talking about an opponent that hasn’t gotten a win since the Obama administration.

    Prediction: Algeo by Decision
