PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) —Scattered showers are in the forecast for today, but fewer thunderstorms are expected.

Temperatures are going to stay lower than normal, in the lower-80’s.  The chance of rain is 50%.  Tonight, scattered showers continue, especially west of the Triad.  Lows will be mild, near 70°.

A stationary front will continue to produce showers and thunderstorms across the state all weekend.

There is a small chance for a few severe storms tomorrow from the Triad eastward with a primary threat for damaging winds.  Highs will be in the lower-80’s Saturday and mid-80’s Sunday.

On both days, the chance of rain is 60%.

As the new work week begins, we will see very little change in the forecast.  Highs stay steadily in the mid-80s through Thursday, and rain chances will run high, between 60% and 80%.  Total rainfall over the next seven days could range between 2″ and 4″!
